Ella Saffran
is a freshman in Columbia College planning on majoring in Neuroscience and Economics. She has worked in Columbia's Gershon Lab in the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology, studying the role of the enteric nervous system in mental health by using immunofluorescence stainings to identify 5-HT4 serotonin receptor clusters. She is also a member of the Columbia Debate Society, and when she is not studying or debating, she enjoys writing songs, running a college preparatory business, and eating chocolate.
