YI QU

is majoring in Biomedical Engineering. In their free time, they enjoy illustrating, writing poetry, spending time with their cat, and thinking about a documentary they watched in their 7th grade science class where the narrator said, "It's possible that alien life exists close to us, but in a form that carbon-based organisms cannot comprehend... For example, what if light waves or sound waves moved with a consciousness that our minds simply do not possess the ability to interpret?" and all these years later, they are still haunted by the sheer magnitude of everything they don't even know that they can't understand. They also enjoy hiking in their home state of Tennessee. In the spring and summer, it's always so green and alive and beautiful that sometimes it makes them wonder why sadness should even be allowed to exist in a world so green and alive and beautiful.
